The latest

So, I haven't posted much in the last while. It seems like I get on a roll and post a lot and have a lot to say, and then it slows down and I don't have anything to write for a while. Well, here is what's been going on in the past month.

Mikey does not have a very strong immune system I guess because he keeps getting sick. He got a cold for a week, started to get better and then it hit full force again. He was still sick 3 weeks later so I took him to the doctor and he had an ear infection. After antibiotics (what a pain giving a 3 month old 1 tsp of medicine twice a day) he got much better and at his 4 month checkup he was well. He weighed 15.2 pounds, was 26 inches long and his head was in the 75th percentile. Yesterday my niece Brynn watched my kids and when I came home Mikey was ferverish and has been for over 24 hours now. No other symptoms, but fevers and a little crankiness.

This summer my kids have been around quite a bit with no set preschool and Timmy quit tumbling as well. Because they are around so much, they have been a little crazy and I have lost my temper a few times with them and then felt guilty. Timmy starts school on Aug. 22nd so at least one of them will be busy at least part of the day and without Timmy and Allie to egg each other on, I suspect things will calm down here a bit. Allison is also quite the drama queen and is quite unreasonable, especially when she is tired. Fortunately, time outs work and when I let her out she is usually willing to go along with what I've asked or told her no to. She is quite the handful lately!

On the other hand, I have really tried to say yes to playing with them more regularly and I guess they are getting a little older because I have actually enjoyed playing kitchen, building forts and going on adventures with them. If I can reasonably say yes to my kids' request, I do and join in the fun for at least a little while.

On a fun note, Justin has nearly reached his vacation cap and has been forced to take some time off. He has taken several Fridays off and he has even had some 4 day weekends lately which has been really nice. We go and go until we wear ourselves out and recover over the week but it has been fun. The kids certainly don't go to bed at 8 PM like normal and it is starting to take its toll on each of us but we slow down when we have to.

Some fun things we have done lately are boating with the McMurray's, BBQ's, Welsh Days in Wales, UT where my Mom now lives, we spent the day up at Snowbird with my brother's family and rode the Alpine slide, hiked and swam, Friday outings with Rusty and Liz, hikes, date nights with our friends and spent some fun time with family and friends.

I'm really enjoying the summer, especially since the weather has not been so hot until now, and will continue to have fun until Timmy heads to school and more routines are developed.

Happy Summer everyone!
