This last weekend was a lot of fun for our family. On Friday morning we went boating with the McMurray's and they finally brought the tube when I was there and I got to go tubing, hooray! Then we came home and my mom came over to help with the kids so we could paint our basement, double hooray!
On Saturday we took down all of the tape and cleaned up our basement somewhat and then took the kids to Jensen Park only to have it start raining 10 minutes after we got there! We headed home and put Allison down for a nap and then I laid down to read and fell asleep. When I woke up Justin wanted a nap so I went outside to mow the backyard and took the kids and filled up the kiddy pool. Well, Justin couldn't sleep so he came out to weed with us and then he was feeling a little stressed by the kids so I took them to the park for 45 min's while he relaxed and made us hamburgers for dinner. They were so good! Then we decided to head out and go up for fireworks at Laura's but it wasn't time yet so we joined the in-laws and finished watching a lame movie with Eddie Murphy as a human spaceship. Then we headed down and had a fabulous firework show and we brought 100 glow sticks for the kids to enjoy and they were indeed a big hit. I almost felt bad that the glow sticks seemed to be more popular than the fireworks and were getting almost more attention.
The entire ride home we saw firework show after firework show from the various cities putting on firework displays and then when we got home our neighbors were putting on their own illegal firework show and Tim and Justin went to watch until almost 11!
On Sunday we went to church and then my dad came over to visit and have his picture taken for his new health insurance website page and then we went to my mom's for dinner. Her house was hot and she was very tired so we invited Rusty to spend the night and he came over for a rousing evening of watching Monk and playing Boggle. We had a blast playing!
It was a great holiday weekend! (I forgot to take pictures of us all in our flag shirts but here is a picture of Tim in his flag shirt and Allison on Sunday with her pigtails.)

Wish we could have been there for the 4th celebrations! My kids loved glow sticks this year, too. Oh, and I love Allie's pig tails. So CUTE!
Sounds like you guys had a busy weekend - us too! But at least it was fun! That lame Eddie Murphy movie? I saw it the other night and thought it was hilarious!
Oh, and Allison's pig tails are very cute...someday we will have those here also, someday...
