Next Monday I am going to attempt a yeast free diet for at least 2 months. This is going to be difficult especially having a family and little ones to take care of which means having food around that I can't eat constantly but I feel it is worth a shot. Most of you who read my blog know that I have never healed from breastfeeding Tim and have a yeast infection that has lasted more than 3 years now. This is my last resort since I don't know anything else to try!
My diet will consist mainly of meats, vegetables, eggs, blueberries, watermelon, unprocessed nuts and some oils. The off limits list includes all breads, sugar, cheese, milk, mushrooms and starchy vegetables like potatoes, sweet vegetables like peas and corn, and any acidic or fermented foods such as vinegar and any processed meats such as lunch meat.
Most food I eat should be organically grown and fresh and not processed or frozen in any way. I will probably be shopping at a Whole Foods store for the first time! Wish me luck, I am really going to need it!

That's awesome! I did that last year and lost 15 lbs in a month! It was crazy. Then of course, I went back to the usual. But I had thrush so I had to do it because of nursing. Anyways, there are so many pluses to doing this. You should read the book "The Yeast Syndrome" by John Parks Trowbridge, MD and Morton Walker DPM. It's amazing and it gives you great guidelines, also...this is such a healthier way to live if you can stand being off of these kinds of carbs. Wish I could have held out! I'd seriously never felt better than when I did it!
Just knowing someone else out there is doing it is motivation enough for me! Count me in! I'd love to feel that great again! I'll start, too!
Good luck-you're amazing, I'm not sure i could do that! i hope it works and you're able to get rid of this infection once and for all! I'll pray for you.
Have a great day!
Wow Celeste, I thought I would definitely be alone in this! Good luck and we'll keep in touch to keep each other motivated :) Losing weight is also a huge bonus to doing this!
wow! i didn't know all the problems you are still having with nursing tim. i am so sorry!
good luck with the new diet. you are going to LOVE whole foods. it is highly addictive...and highly expensive. :)
Sounds like a difficult endeavor...although I'm sure it's been horrible dealing with a 3 year yeast infection. Good luck with the new eating rules!
Good Luck Nells, I have heard people have great results and that they can even continue feeling well after if they slowly add yeasts back into their diet (one food at a time kind of thing) I can hardly go a day without chocolate, let alone all sweets.
