Snow Day!!!

This winter has been incredible for snow reminding me of my childhood when the snow would start falling in November and you wouldn't see the ground until spring.

A week and a half ago we got so much snow they even canceled school!  Wow!  My kids had a great time playing in the snow and building a snow fort around the trampoline with me.  Truly, such a fun day.

Skiing? $100?

So Justin really wanted to take me skiing over the Christmas holiday break.  We got a sitter and started looking into just bunny hill passes or half day passes since I don't love it and prefer easy easy stuff.  When all was said and done, skiing and rentals would cost about $100 for a half day of skiing.  Seriously, too much!  So, we really wanted to go but decided we would wait until we could find friends we could borrow skis from and cut that cost in half.

Since we still had our sitter, we went hiking in the snow up to our favorite trail, Green Pond by Snow Basin.  We hiked up to the pond and it was fun to get out for some fresh air and exercise.  Then we drove up to Snowbird for some hot chocolate and then went to lunch at a chinese restaurant.  All in all, still a fun cheap day since our sitter was just a neighbor!

Planetarium Membership

On Cyber Monday we were able to get an awesome deal on a $100 Clark Planetarium Membership for 5 people. It was half off on KSL deals and then on Cyber Monday it was another 20% off so it was only $39. We have already been twice and we love it! If we would've paid full price for admission and popcorn, we would've spent nearly $50 each time so it was a fabulous deal! Here are some pictures of us visiting the day after Christmas. We rode the train because it was so snowy and we love to ride the train during Justin's Christmas break from work.

Merry Christmas!

We had a very nice Christmas this year.  On Christmas Eve morning Justin took Allie and Timmy to aebleskiver breakfast at Shannon's to celebrate with the McMurrays.  Mikey had a fever so I stayed home and got the home ready for Santa's visit and put all of the presents under the tree.

Since Rusty is on his mission and  my parent's house in Murray was sold, my sisters Liz and Sherri decided to go and spend the holidays with Pete and Amber in Chicago.  That only left Jer and myself so we decided not to do the regular Christmas Eve dinner at my Dad's.  Instead we had my Mom and Dennis spend the night on Christmas Eve and then we had a wonderful Christmas morning opening and playing with presents. Then after lunch we had a video chat with Rusty.  It was great to see him!

Then my Dad, Kari and Grandma Griggs came over for Christmas Dinner.  It was a really nice holiday season staying home and letting our kids relax and play at home.

Here are some pictures from Christmas.
