Never ceases to Amaze me!

I am writing to let you all know that just a few hours after I wrote my post about Me Time, Justin called and could tell I was a bit stressed with our whiny kids and suggested that I get a babysitter and we go out that night! I was really surprised because I usually plan all of our dates and he agrees to go but never initiates! Since it was 2 PM I only called our regular babysitters and they weren't able to come so we didn't go out but I loved that he just read me so completely and offered!

This takes me back to when we were dating and I was still unsure about his complete feelings for me and whenever I would start to doubt, he would send me an email or phone call RIGHT THEN! I was always amazed that no matter how much doubt I would experience, he would always quell it right away! He really is an amazing husband and I am looking forward to going out on a date soon!

Me Time

I often hear stories of women that have husbands that encourage their wives to take a break and take some time for themselves. I've heard husbands tell their wives they do too much and they will take over for a while why they take a turn with the kids. Well, it can be said that Justin will probably never tell me these words because I need 'Me Time' at least once a week and probably more often than he thinks I need.

I need just a little break when I can go out without the kids either to a clothing or grocery store or just out for a break. I seriously don't know how women have only rare breaks from their kids and families. Who knows, maybe I'm too much of a snob and need more time alone than most women, but I need it and therefore I search for it! If Justin is really busy and cannot afford the time to let me go out, I will just get a babysitter when he is at school and go out myself! It's a good thing I have babysitters who love my kids and are not expensive.

Perhaps this post is just a little bit of a vent because I am burned out and my kids seem more needy and whiny than ever today. Yes, it is a Saturday when Justin is at school from 7-4 and I am home alone with the kids for the 6th day in a row. Plus on the weekends that Justin has school, he is very busy doing all of his homework all week long so I have to do more than usual. Well, I better log off because my daughter keeps whining that she dropped her spoon off her booster chair. Parenting is hard!

Ode to Rachel!

Yesterday when I went to visit my in-laws, my sister-in-law Heather told me her little daughter Rachel who is almost 2 loves to see pictures of Timmy. Every time Heather gets on the computer Rachel asks to see Timmy and then she comes to my blog and has to scroll through to find some of him. Rachel and Timmy just love each other, it is adorable to watch! Well Rachel, here are a bunch of pictures of Timmy just for you!!!

I Love to Mow!

Last year when Justin started school and was really busy about half way through the summer, I decided to surprise him and mow the lawn when he came home from work one day. He had shown me a few weeks before how to mow and he just didn't have a lot of time to do it so I thought it would be fun to surprise him. I never had to mow the lawn as a child because I had brothers and a dad who always did it. I actually really enjoyed mowing and I loved seeing Justin's excitement that he didn't have to!

But even more than that, it gives you a great workout and I just feel good afterwards! If it weren't so silly, I would actually love to mow people's lawn for cash as a summer job :) The only thing I don't love is trimming. I am not good at trimming (I know it will just take practice) but more than that, we have so many spiders and the big ones start running up the fence when I start to trim, ewww! Hence, it is still Justin's job to trim unless he gets too busy and it gets to the point where I can't stand it and then just do it! Also, we have a riding lawn mower but I like the push lawn mower for the workout. Justin thinks I'm crazy to mow our huge backyard that way but it is enjoyable for me!

Just another tidbit on my life! Oh, and I mowed the lawn for the first time this year today!

General Conference

After watching Conference there was one tidbit of information that President Monson taught that stuck with me. He was talking about a couple who decided to just have a dog instead of children because they are easier, you don't have to hear them complain and you don't have to give them timeouts, etc. He told us how proud of us he is that we choose to have children and the sacrifice it takes to really raise a child. He commended us for our efforts and how blessed we will be for this sacrifice.

I've been struggling a lot lately with my feelings about freedom and how I don't seem to have any real and true free time anymore. Too often I find myself wishing for the life I had before I had children. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore my children but it just seems that every day is a new challenge and sometimes the whining and the constant cleaning is just so much to handle. I was very blessed to live a very rich and fulfilling life before kids that sometimes I miss that freedom of going wherever I wanted like Disneyworld for example and traveling all over the country.

After listening to President Monson it gave me a greater resolve to really appreciate raising my children and to do more with them and take care of them by teaching them the gospel as well as secular things. I am really going to try and focus on the good and the excitement of having children instead of focusing on the negative.

One other thing I liked was from a member of the quorum of the twelve and I don't remember who, but he was talking how an individual was always waiting for others to include them and make them feel welcome and when they went to church they just waited for others to come to them. I must admit that this is me at times and I am really going to try and be the type of person who takes action and in turn, people will probably enjoy being around me more!

There were many more good points from Conference, but these are the two I am going to focus on and work harder on!
