Introducing Allison Kate McMurray

Well, she has arrived! Our baby girl Allison was born at 1:48 PM at Davis Hospital in Layton. She weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She has brownish red hair and was quite the screamer when she was born. Overall, everything went really well and I'll be sure to post more later.

Baby update!
After going to the doctor today, I have decided to set an induction date because I am really ready to be done with pregnancy. The doctor says I am ready and moving along but labor just hasn't started yet. If I don't go into labor soon, I will be induced on Thursday, Feb. 28th at 7:30 AM. I tried to get a time on Friday the 29th so that we would have a leap year baby but they were booked solid. They said that some people were really insistent on that date and others completely avoided that date. At any rate, one week to go at the most!! Let's hope the baby decides to come on its own before then :)

Happy Birthday Justin!

Yesterday it was Justin's birthday and being a Sunday it wasn't filled with much excitement. Plus, Timothy has the stomach flu which means we did not even go visit his family for Sunday dinner. I told Justin he could go to his parent's and I would stay home with Tim but he opted to stay home with us. Instead we stayed home and organized and cleaned the house which was long overdue, especially in the basement. Overall, it was a nice and relaxing day.
Justin received a new Cannon digital camera for his birthday. On Saturday my family was over and we had a nice dinner and cake and ice cream to celebrate his birthday. Justin is a great father and husband and I am glad to be part of his life! He turned 29!!!

Tag!

I was tagged by Julie May and I enjoy answering these types of questionnaires :)
A.The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B. Each player answers the questions about themselves. C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
* * * * *10 Years Ago:
In February of 1998 I was in my senior year of high school at Murray High. Some of the classes I remember taking are sewing, Madrigals (pianist) and A cappella choirs, Calculus, Physics, English, seminary etc. I was dating Justin Mangone who had already graduated from Taylorsville High in 1997 and was working to save up for his mission. I drove a dark gray Ford Thunderbird and enjoyed spending time with friends.
* * * * *5 Things on my to-do list today:
1. Take a nap when Tim goes down for his nap this afternoon.
2. Laundry.
3. Call Debbie.
4. Gather up tax stuff for Justin.
5. Get out and do something with Tim.
* * * * *Snacks I enjoy:
I enjoy granola bars, bananas, yogurt, frozen mixed veggies, Marie Calender's $5.99 pies (it's pie month!), anything peanut butter and chocolate, cereal, hot chocolate and toast, hot fudge sundaes, crepes and pizza.
** * * *Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
I would buy another home that had all of the bedrooms on one end and the family room/kitchen on the other end and hire a decorator! I would make sure that all of my family members were well taken care of, and save for my kid's weddings and colleges and missions. I would travel and hire a nanny to help me out some days. I would probably take a few days and go shopping and buy whatever my heart desired and then save the rest. I would also be sure to be generous in giving to the church.
* * * * *3 of my bad habits:
1. Playing spider solitaire too much.
2. Twirling my hair.
3. Eating too many sweets.
* * * * *5 places I have lived:
1. Murray, UT
2. North Salt Lake, UT
3. Bountiful, UT
4. Orlando, FL
5. River Ridge, LA
6. Fairfax, VA
7. Syracuse, UT
8. Provo, UT
* * * * *5 jobs I have had:
1. Discovery Zone - party host, front desk, diner etc
2. Arby's - front counter, drive-through
3. Franklin Covey - customer service rep
4. Management Recruiters of SLC - Admin Assistant
5. Lewis, Young, Robertson and Burningham - Admin Assistant
* * * * *5 things people don't know about me:
1. I really enjoy ballroom dancing (east coast swing, cha cha, foxtrot, waltz) and Folk Dancing!
2. I used to play the flute in elementary and junior high.
3. I would love to have a beautifully yet simply decorated home but do not have much decorating sense.
4. I write what's going on in my life in my planner and then transfer it periodically to my journal, I'm a bit behind right now but have filled several journals in the past.
5. I visit a chiropractor once a month to help with back pain.
* * * * *Who should I tag?
I am going to tag Andrea Griggs, Celeste Weekes, Emily Christensen, Natalie Godown and Rebecca Sackett.

All about our family!

I have decided to join the blog world and create a website for my little family. I'm not quite sure what to write about but figured I would start by telling about us. Justin works for Northrop Grumman as a Systems Engineer and is going to attend BYU's executive MBA program starting this summer. He graduated from Woods Cross High School in 1997 and then attended the University of Utah where he majored in Computer Science and minored in Spanish. He also served an LDS mission to Ecuador for 2 years. A month after he graduated from the U of U we were married in the Bountiful, UT temple and the adventure of our life together began.
I am a stay-at-home mom with one son and a baby girl due on Feb. 27 (I can't wait!) I graduated from Murray High School in 1998 and attended UVSC where I got my associates degree in generals with an emphasis on childhood education in 2000. I then attended BYU where I graduated in 2001 with my bachelor's in Marriage, Family and Human Development. I worked for a few years, had fun dating and hanging out with friends and then married Justin on June 7, 2003. I also attended Walden University and got my MBA in Human Resource Management last November 2007. A year and a half after Justin and I were married he got into a rotational program with his work for systems engineers. We had a blast living in Orlando where I went to Disneyworld 13 times! We then lived in New Orleans but were kicked out by Hurricane Katrina and then lived in Fairfax, VA for a year and that's where Tim was born. We now live in Syracuse, UT near Justin's work in Clearfield.
Tim is a happy little toddler who loves everything from buckles to cans to bubbles and jumping and stories and running. He is very good natured and loves to watch Baby Einstein movies. He is such a joy to have around.
