Healthy Snacks

I am going to list my favorite healthy snacks and would love your opinions too:

* Kettle Korn mini bags, 97% fat free, only 100 calories!
* Cooked carrots (raw carrots does not cut it for me!)
* Frozen vegetables that are cooked
* Blueberries, bananas, raspberries, nectarines, grapes, melons
* 100 calorie granola bars
* Small bowl of cereal
* Handful of almonds
* Yogurt
* String cheese
* An Eggo with just a little bit of syrup
* Pistachios
* Applesauce
* Walmart baked vegetable crackers
* Handful of crackers such as wheat thins

I really wish I were more satisfied eating fruit. I never feel full after eating fruit but they are so good for you! I definitely need the most help around 3 or 4 PM when lunch has been digested and it's not quite time for dinner. Yesterday I ate a mini bag of popcorn and it really helped! Then I had tasty salmon and wild rice for dinner with vegetables, yummy! However, by the evening I was really hungry again so I had a granola bar. I probably could have passed but I just didn't want to! What do you do in the late afternoon and evening to help pass the hunger and cravings for something sweet?

I like to eat a piece of cheese when I'm craving sweets-for me, it fills the craving and makes me full enough that I can wait for dinner. . . . I also like strawberries with a little sugar sprinkled on them-way better than a candy bar! :)

I eat! Or, I get a drink. Sometimes thirst can act like hunger and people may eat when only they are thirsty. I like chocolate milk because it seems like a treat.

Oh, I wanted to add, chips n salsa, cottage cheese and having a small treat. I find if I eat something to avoid the treat and still want the treat I will eat both! So, having a small scoop of ice cream is better or even a big one - than eating two things.

Hey Nellie! Thanks for visiting me yesterday... you looked GREAT! You're doing a good job on this diet and you are keeping me motivated! It was so good to see your Mom. She looks like she is doing well!!

Good luck with the diet! You are awesome. So one of my FAVORITE snacks is either bananas or apples dipped in caramel! I love it because it solves my sweet tooth cravings and I'm getting some fruit in me. I like having treats... I just try to have the low fat or healthy versions of what I like laying around the house. Like Slow Churned Ice Cream... YUM! That way I can still eat them! Good luck! We need to get together... it's been a while.
