An Update!

I haven't been really good at updating this blog in the past year and have gotten out of the habit of doing an online journal besides my healthy living blog.  Plus, many of my friends stopped blogging and I felt no one was reading my blog so it became boring.  At any rate, I just feel like writing an update today!

Last year was quite the year for me.  I found out I was pregnant in mid January and then didn't get morning sickness at 6 weeks like normal.  Then at 7 weeks I started spotting and was sure I was going to lose the baby.  Talk about the worst day of my life since it was on a Sunday and I could either wait until Monday to see my OB or go to the ER so I opted to wait.  Anyway, the baby was fine and I got morning sickness a few days later.  I continued spotting until about 11 weeks and then it went away and I felt more at ease although I was sick the whole pregnancy and on Zofran the whole time.  Anyway, on September 17 we had our sweet baby Wesley and we are so glad to have him in our lives.  I really was hoping to get a baby girl but it just wasn't meant to be.  We are glad to have the children we were given and ready to move on to another stage of life in raising our kids.  I am very glad to have 1 girl though!

The next few months after the baby was born were hard with sleep and healing, but after about 5 weeks I got things figured out and got in a good routine.  All in all, 2013 was a hard year for me with pregnancy and the newborn stage and I am glad to be in 2014 now :)

So far this year has been a bit of a struggle with Justin working all the time.  He literally works from 7:30 until 7:30 - 9:00 PM at night, even on Saturdays and Sundays.  The reason is his company had their contract from the government split into 5 pieces a few years ago and he worked hard to win the first piece which keeps most of the employees in Utah employed but they lost it we found out last August.  It was a big hit and we considered moving for a while.  We waited and waited and considered moving to San Diego and then to Baltimore but neither job ended up working out.  He was then offered another position here in Utah but it won't last more than a year or two.  However, he is working on the 2nd piece of the contract (hence the long hours) to hopefully win more jobs here in Utah and save as many jobs as he can.  However, this new contract isn't really up his alley of expertise so we're still in limbo for a while.  Oh well, I am glad we get to stay here.....love our ward, neighbors and friends nearby :)   He will work late and long hours until the end of February and started January 2nd.  We will be very happy to have our husband/dad back home with us more regularly.

Anyway, that's what's going on here.  Timmy and Allie started tumbling a week ago and love it.  Timmy loves 2nd grade and Allie loves Kindergarten.  Mikey is starting to exude independence and we struggle with each other some days.  Wesley is now 5 months old and we are starting to sleep train him although he keeps getting croup and colds.  I am trying my best to eat healthy and exercise to lose the baby weight.  Still have 9 pounds to go and I'm hoping to have lost the weight in the next 3 months so that I fit my summer clothes.  I went practically sugar free in January and lost a good chunk but have regressed in February with so many birthdays and Valentine's Day etc.  Trying to find a good balance right now.  I am also running for 90 days with a friend from college, not including Sundays.  So far we have run 10 days so we're on our way.

Life is good, we are blessed and happy and trying our best to serve others and stay positive.

Check out my Other Blog

For the past few months I have been blogging about my pregnancy, morning sickness and weight gain on my healthy living blog.  It has pretty much turned into my full on journal documenting everything we went through with Mikey's 15 day illness and everything going on my world as of late.  If you want to see more updates, check out my other blog.  I update it every Monday.  www.nellieshealthyliving.blogspot.com

Goings on.

These past few months have been full of activities for birthdays, Easter and morning sickness for myself. So, for this post I am just going to post pictures of our goings on and comment on them below. I am starting to feel a little better so that's good. Well, not right at this moment but the past few days have been pretty good!

Poor baby has been sick with rotavirus for 12 days now.  This is how he looks for a few hours each day when suffering with diarrhea and throwing up.  Sad sad baby.
