Yeast Free Diet

Next Monday I am going to attempt a yeast free diet for at least 2 months. This is going to be difficult especially having a family and little ones to take care of which means having food around that I can't eat constantly but I feel it is worth a shot. Most of you who read my blog know that I have never healed from breastfeeding Tim and have a yeast infection that has lasted more than 3 years now. This is my last resort since I don't know anything else to try!

My diet will consist mainly of meats, vegetables, eggs, blueberries, watermelon, unprocessed nuts and some oils. The off limits list includes all breads, sugar, cheese, milk, mushrooms and starchy vegetables like potatoes, sweet vegetables like peas and corn, and any acidic or fermented foods such as vinegar and any processed meats such as lunch meat.

Most food I eat should be organically grown and fresh and not processed or frozen in any way. I will probably be shopping at a Whole Foods store for the first time! Wish me luck, I am really going to need it!

San Francisco Trip

Well, I tried to repost my entries of each day so they would go in order but it didn't work! Feel free to skip over all the pictures or enjoy! We had a great trip!

San Francisco Day 5!

On Saturday we went to Alcatraz and heard all about the prison and it was fun to visit. Unfortunately the entire Golden Gate Bridge was covered in fog so we didn't get any great pictures from the boat ride. Then Justin went to the Bay Aquarium and I went shopping again at Pier 39 and then we hit Ghirardelli Square one more time for me to get my sundae this time and then we headed down to Fort Point. It was an old fort and there were windows that were missing that made great wind tunnels and I had a photo shoot taken thanks to Justin!

Then we drove over to see Full House and found the house but on the way to the aerial view of the park and townhomes we hit too much traffic and Justin was too frustrated so we headed back to our hotel. We finished the night off by going to see Harry Potter 6 which I loved of course!

What a fun time we had, woo hoo!

San Francisco Day 4!

On Friday we drove back into Yosemite and went to see Mariposa Grove where they have giant sequoia trees that were huge and amazing! We hiked about 4 miles round trip at this spot and by the end, I was hiked out and tired! Then we went up to another hike only a mile each way and saw Mirror Lake which was more like little ponds connected by rivers. The water level was really low so it wasn't very impressive.

Then we headed back to Merced and met up with my college buddies Kevin and Joey. Joey brought along his wife Rachel and daughter Robin. It was fun to meet them! We ate at a nice Italian restaurant and had a great time reminiscing about the past! I forgot to take a picture but we really did have a nice visit together. Then we headed back to Dublin to spend the night before our last day in San Francisco.

San Francisco Day 3

On Thursday we woke up and left early to drive to Yosemite National Park. It was a very windy road and was making me feel a bit carsick so when we got there to hike I wasn't in the most chipper of moods. We hiked approx. 6 miles roundtrip to see Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls. Vernal was more beautiful to me. See below for some extra special scenery!

After our hike we drove to Merced, CA and spent the night at the Days Inn which unfortunately had us booked in a smoking room and they were sold out so we were stuck with it. It was a bummer!

San Francisco Day 2!

On Wednesday we headed down to San Jose and toured the Winchester Mansion, I thought it was great! Then we went to the flea market and it was just okay. Large, but not incredibly varied stuff and not great prices on shoes for kids. Then we went into the city and I toured a sail boat called the Balclutha and anyone who knows me knows I love sail boats and sailing. Then we went to Ghirardelli Square and got ice cream but they forgot about me and so we just ate Justin's and got my money back. Then we shopped at Pier 39 for a bit and ate dinner at Joe's Crab Shack before heading back to our hotel to soak in the hot tub, uh huh!

San Francisco Day 1!

Well, we just returned from our anniversary trip to San Francisco and it was great! Justin and I were lucky enough to go from Tuesday through Sunday morning and it was overall a great trip. I will likely do multiple posts to show the different things we did because I have a lot of pictures! A big thanks to Andrea and Jeremy for watching out kids!

On Tuesday we flew in at noon and headed off to Sausilito for the afternoon. We had lunch and went shopping and it was very beautiful. Then we were planning to head into the city but decided to detour and see Muir Woods instead for the evening. I am so glad we did, it was the highlight of our trip for both of us! The setting was late afternoon/early evening and the scenery was beautiful and we just loved hiking through the peaceful tall coastal redwoods with very few people there.
