Sheets update!
So, I decided to call Walmart thanks to my sis-in-law Megan and see if they would return the sheets without the packaging but with the receipt and they did it! I told them how I was allergic to them and the lady told me if she could go find the same ones and verify it she would allow it. She found them and left them at customer service and told them the story so when I went in I did not get much hassle. The girl at the customer service desk knew the story but was still skeptical so she called over the customer service manager and she approved it with no hesitation at all because she was aware of the story as well and has a lot of allergies in her family! YAY for getting back nearly $60.

Stupid Sheets!

A few weeks ago I bought some soft Egyptian Cotton sheets for $50 for my king size bed. I was very excited and washed them and they didn't feel as soft so I bought some fabric softener and washed them again and they are still not as soft as when I first felt them in the package. So anyway, I decided to put them on my bed last night and I settled in to watch Twilight. My legs started to feel really warm so I put on cooler PJ's and by the time Justin and I were going to bed, I realized that I was allergic to my sheets! Ahhhhh!
Those who know me really well know that my skin is allergic to certain types of cotton but it has mostly been corduroy and I am somewhat allergic to carpet. These allergies are not severe and I just get red and warm skin with a slight rash while in contact with the material. This was always funny because Justin always wore corduroys to work when we were dating and first married. Sometimes if I left my arm against his leg I would feel the allergy kick in but for the most part it wasn't a problem.
Well, I made Justin get up at 11 PM and change the sheets with me. There was no way I was going to sleep in my bed all night with those sheets. I wish I could return them but once they've been washed I'm probably out of luck! Grrrrrr!
I am always on the hunt for really soft cotton white sheets that I am NOT allergic to! My favorite sheets were also very cheap and after a year they started to get tears and I had to throw them away!

Picture Tag!
My friend Sarah tagged me to do a picture tag and I think it is fun and super easy! Since I have 2 picture folders, I am going to post 2 pictures. I am going to tag Andrea Griggs, Emily Christensen, Celeste Weekes and Cara Tenney!
Here are the rules: 1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer 2) Select the 4th picture in the folder 3) Explain the picture 4) Tag 4 people to do the same NO CHEATING! (cropping, editing, etc..)
This is Allison and Justin on Halloween last year.
This is Justin going on a snowshoe fund raiser walk with his work to raise money for the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.

Food Storage Woot Woot!
Last night I went to Macey's grocery store and bought food storage during their emergency preparedness and case lot sale! I bought 360 lbs of wheat (for our family I think we need a total of 450 lbs), 40 lbs of rice and bucket to put it in, a lid opener, a gamma lid which screws on and off one of the big buckets, ketchup, mayo, corn, beans, applesauce and salt! Since we were able to get $300 from our tax return for the economic stimulus for Allison being born last year, we decided food storage was a great way to spend it. I will probably go back and buy more since their prices are good right now!
Yay!!!

It's a bummer.
Well, life is going to change a little for me. My mom started work last Wednesday so I will not be able to go visit her on a regular basis, at least during the day. This makes me sad because I always expected to have my mom around when I raised my children and now this is changing.
When I first moved back to Utah my mom was in school for the first year and very busy. When she finally graduated, I was able to spend a lot of time with her, at least once a week. Then my parents were separated last October and because of the money situation they are currently in, my mom needs to work. Luckily she is able to work for her father's company Martin Doors, but it still stinks that I can't go and visit her whenever I feel like it. It also means that we will not be able to talk as much because she is gone all day. Oh well, I am sure there are several others in this same boat but it still makes me feel a little sad. I don't think it's completely sunk in yet because it hasn't even been a week, but I know it will soon. She is truly my best girl friend and I will miss being able to share so much of my life with her.

What to do today?
So, I have a very free day until 4 PM and I just don't know what to do! Any ideas anyone? I have a $10 gift card to Kohl's I could go and spend and a few returns to Walmart...hmmm, that's about it!
At 4-5:30 I am teaching piano and then Justin and I are headed to SLC for his school group project. I am going to be part of their response group discussing a new website that sounds really cool. I will give more details after I go! We are having pizza and going to a really cool house in Pepperwood. Sounds like a fun night out! I was happy he thought of inviting me to take part in the project and I'm glad I was able to find a babysitter on short notice :) He has been fairly busy this week with plans every night so I am glad to be able to join in on one activity.

I tagged myself!
I went to my sister-in-law's website and she had a cool tag on her blog. Basically, the tag involves having the first five people who respond to my post getting something from me! I cannot promise that it will be homemade, but I will buy or make you something cool!
Here are the rules:
1. I will make or buy or make you something but you will have no idea what it is and I will do my best to tailor it to fit just you!
2. I will do it by the end of the summer, likely before then!
3. I make no guarantee that you will like the gift :)
The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a fantastic gift from me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!!!
Let the fun begin!

Happy 1st Birthday Allison!

Well, my daughter is now a sweet one year old! I am so happy to be her mom and I enjoy seeing her smile every day. The only downer is that she is sick today. I finally took her to see her doctor two days ago after having cold like symptoms for about 3 weeks. She was ultimately diagnosed with RSV, an ear infection in both ears and a sinus infection! Luckily she has gotten on antibiotics and is feeling a bit better today. She even got her appetite back and ate breakfast and lunch. Soon she will be enjoying cake!
We had planned a family party for tonight but unfortunately had to cancel it because she is contagious until she gets better. My dad is still coming over to visit and have dinner and cake with us!
Happy Birthday darling baby girl!
(Our camera was broken by Tim so these pictures are from my cell phone taken on her birthday in her new red dress!)
